Remo Gettini appointed Chief Technology Officer at Twinkl

Thu, 14th Aug 2025

Twinkl has named Remo Gettini as its new Chief Technology Officer, entrusting him with responsibility for advancing the company's digital educational offerings for over 6 million customers worldwide.

Leadership change

Gettini steps into the Chief Technology Officer role following extensive experience in digital product development and technology strategy. He previously served in senior technology positions at several global businesses, including Depop, DreamWorks, Electronic Arts, and World of Books.

The company, which has recorded more than 147 million unique visitors in 2024, supplies a diverse range of educational resources to primary and secondary teachers, nursery workers, and parents across 190 countries and regions. The appointment comes as Twinkl aims to scale its digital capabilities to serve educators and learners with increasing effectiveness.

Strategic focus

Twinkl's CEO and Founder, Jon Seaton, commented on the strategic direction behind the appointment. He said, "Our future is built on the ability to deliver intuitive, impactful, and accessible tools for educators and learners at scale. With Remo's leadership, we're better placed than ever to blend educational credibility with exceptional technology."

Gettini's main responsibilities will include guiding Twinkl into a new era defined by technological growth, security, and enhanced user experience. The company's offering includes more than 1.5 million teacher-created and checked resources, such as classroom content, assessments, AI tools, and augmented reality games, added to its site on a daily basis.

Personal motivation

Joining Twinkl is deeply personal. As a father to a teenager, I see every day how important, and sometimes tough, learning can be. And as a former teacher, I have been on the other side too, trying to support students in a system that did not always make it easy. That is why this mission resonates so strongly with me.

Expanding on his motivation for joining Twinkl, Gettini said, "I am not here just to build EdTech experiences, but also to deliver solutions that really understand and support learners and educators. This work matters to me on every level."

Twinkl's global reach

Founded in 2010 by Jonathan and Susie Seaton, Twinkl has maintained a mission "to help those who teach." The company's resources are widely used and trusted by schools across the UK and internationally, illustrating its growth from a start-up to a platform engaged by millions of users globally. Twinkl's services cater for a wide range of educational needs, supporting both traditional classroom settings and individual learning at home.

As Twinkl continues its growth, the company signals a focus on integrating security, scalability, and adaptability into its core offerings to meet the demands of a changing educational landscape. The appointment of Gettini is viewed as a step towards ensuring that technological development at Twinkl remains aligned with the practical requirements of educators and the broader educational community.

Gettini brings over three decades of experience in scaling digital platforms, aiming to enhance Twinkl's capabilities to support digital literacy and facilitate effective learning worldwide.
