Targa Telematics wins top EcoVadis, ESG reporting honours

Fri, 20th Feb 2026

Targa Telematics has received a gold medal in EcoVadis' corporate sustainability rating, placing it in the top 5% of organisations assessed. It also earned an Excellence Level recognition in EUPD Research's ESG Transparency Award, which focuses on sustainability reporting.

The EcoVadis result places Targa Telematics in the 97th percentile. It reported improved scores across all assessment areas compared with its previous rating.

EcoVadis assesses organisations across four themes: environment, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. Its methodology is based on document review and external data, and benchmarks results against sector peers and broader standards.

EcoVadis scoring

EcoVadis' database covers more than 150,000 companies and draws on more than 2 million external data points. Many organisations use its ratings in supplier assessment and procurement processes.

Gold status is reserved for a small proportion of assessed companies. EcoVadis' criteria require strong performance over the past year and an overall ranking above the 95th percentile.

Targa Telematics recorded its largest gains in ethics and sustainable procurement, reporting increases of more than 20 points in each category versus its previous assessment.

It described the result as part of a continuous improvement process guided by EcoVadis feedback, and linked the work to practices across its wider supply chain, including clients and partners.

Elena Bellini, Head of Marketing at Targa Telematics, said the rating signals reassurance to international customers and partners as ESG criteria play a bigger role in corporate decision-making.

"The EcoVadis recognition is testament to Targa Telematics' commitment to integrating sustainability across all operations. Ranking among the top 5% of companies assessed reinforces our global role as a trusted partner for clients and major organisations operating internationally, as they increasingly focus on ESG criteria," said Bellini.

Reporting award

Separately, EUPD Research awarded Targa Telematics the Excellence Level of its ESG Transparency Award. The award recognises the completeness and clarity of publicly available ESG reporting and the level of transparency provided to stakeholders.

The recognition follows Targa Telematics' latest reporting cycle. It said its ESG progress is detailed in its third Sustainability Report, published at the end of 2025.

The report outlines recent initiatives linked to an internal action plan and describes how investment decisions and business activities align with longer-term sustainability objectives, including measurable outcomes.

Business context

Targa Telematics operates in the telematics and connected mobility market, building digital platforms for fleet operators and mobility providers. Its customers include rental companies, financial services firms, and operators of large vehicle fleets.

Its portfolio includes insurance telematics, asset and fleet management tools, and vehicle diagnostics and remote telemetry. It also supports professional vehicles and construction site equipment, and provides systems for managing airport vehicles.

Targa Telematics operates across several European markets, including Italy, England, France, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Poland, and Romania, and also has a presence in Chile.

It works on international projects with local teams in its operating markets. It also participates in the United Nations Global Compact and aligns with its principles for responsible business conduct.

As sustainability ratings are increasingly used in supply chain selection and vendor review, the combination of a high EcoVadis percentile score and a reporting transparency award strengthens the company's position with customers that track ESG metrics in procurement and governance processes.

It said it will continue work against its sustainability action plan, with future updates expected through its ongoing ESG reporting programme.
