Vault365 taps Newcorp to expand UK data backup reach

Vault365 has entered a partnership with Newcorp in the UK, a deal expected to lift its UK revenue by 20% over the next 12 months.
The Irish data protection company expects the arrangement to generate an additional €585,000 in UK revenue during that period. Newcorp, an IT infrastructure support provider, will offer Vault365's LocalLock backup appliance to customers across the UK.
The agreement gives Vault365 broader access to organisations in regulated sectors, including healthcare, education and local authorities. Those sectors face growing scrutiny over how they store, protect and recover sensitive data.
Demand for backup and recovery tools has risen as companies and public bodies respond to cyber attacks, tighter compliance requirements and concerns over where data is held. Vault365 said those factors helped drive the partnership.
LocalLock is designed to keep critical business data on site rather than solely in the cloud. It uses immutable storage, meaning backed-up data cannot be altered, overwritten or deleted.
This approach is intended to reduce the risk posed by ransomware, which often targets backups as well as live systems. It also gives customers the option to retain data locally in environments where sovereignty, control and recovery speed matter.
Vault365 introduced LocalLock earlier this year as part of a broader push into backup and data recovery services. The company says the product can work alongside cloud backups and continue protecting information during network outages.
UK expansion
The Newcorp deal forms part of Vault365's UK expansion as it looks to deepen its presence in sectors with heavy compliance demands. By working with a local partner with an established customer base, the company aims to increase distribution without relying solely on direct sales coverage.
Newcorp supports UK organisations with IT infrastructure and related services. Its customer base includes bodies that often must meet strict standards on data retention, access and resilience.
For buyers in these markets, backup arrangements have become a board-level issue rather than a back-office technical choice. Outages, cyber incidents and failed recoveries can disrupt services and expose organisations to financial and regulatory consequences.
Cillian McCarthy, Chief Executive Officer of Vault365, outlined the company's view of the UK opportunity.
"As part of our continued expansion in the UK, we are delighted to welcome Newcorp as a Vault365 partner in the market. Newcorp's deep understanding of the UK landscape makes it the perfect partner to deliver our LocalLock solution to organisations with complex compliance needs. For many businesses, cloud isn't the only answer, and storing data securely on-site provides increased protection against ransomware and enables more control over sensitive data," said Cillian McCarthy, Chief Executive Officer of Vault365.
The emphasis on keeping some copies of data on site reflects a broader shift in backup strategy among customers that do not want to rely entirely on remote systems. In sectors such as healthcare and local government, the ability to recover quickly after an incident can have operational consequences beyond financial loss.
Newcorp said the partnership responds to customer concerns about how data is stored and how quickly it can be restored when systems fail. It will combine the product with its own support and technical advice for UK clients.
"The ability to securely store data locally is becoming ever more important to businesses and this partnership enables us to provide increased reassurance to customers that their data is protected and easily retrievable. As well as an advanced technology solution, customers will benefit from local support and expert technical guidance when it comes to securing their sensitive digital assets. We're looking forward to continuing to grow the partnership and expand our Vault365 capabilities," said Andrew Low, Account Director at Newcorp.
