Vaylens teams up with waEV-charge to simplify fleet EV charging

Wed, 6th Aug 2025

Vaylens has entered into a partnership with waEV-charge to integrate their software with waEV-charge's vehicle charging hardware for fleet operators.

This new partnership will see vaylens' charging management platform directly incorporated into waEV-charge's smart charging points, providing fleet operators with the ability to monitor and manage energy consumption across any number of at-home and depot charging stations.

Through this integration, company drivers are able to charge their electric vehicles at home, with the cost of the electricity used reimbursed directly to their energy provider. This process is automated, removing the need for manual approval and allowing for payments based on dynamic tariffs and actual energy use.

The solution also delivers reporting capabilities. Fleet managers can access data on where drivers are charging most frequently and at what cost, which supports decision-making to boost efficiency and manage costs across both home and depot environments.

Operational improvements

Russell Olive, UK Director at vaylens, explained some of the challenges faced by the sector and the objectives of the partnership:

"Fleet managers are under pressure to reduce costs and streamline operations across multiple charging locations. With most fleet vehicles taken home overnight, home charging is a vital part of any strategy. But without visibility or control across depot and home charging, energy use can become fragmented, reimbursing drivers gets complicated, and opportunities to optimise are lost."

By combining software and hardware, the partnership is intended to address these operational questions by minimising complexity and improving the transparency of energy use and cost.

Olive also commented on the factors informing the collaboration and the intended benefits for fleet operators:

"By combining our intelligent software with waEV-charge's proven, reliable hardware, and their strong track record in residential installation, we're giving fleet managers a solution they can trust. It's smart, scalable, and designed for how fleets actually operate today."

Industry response

Joe Fogel, founder and Chief Executive Officer of waEV, said the partnership builds upon the company's reputation in the home charging sector and represents a significant move for the industry:

"Embedding vaylens in our industry-leading chargers takes our support of the fleet management sector to the next level. Our reputation for reliable installation and high user satisfaction in the home market as shown by being the highest rated charger on Trustpilot gives fleet operators confidence that their infrastructure will work every time. This partnership represents a major step forward in helping UK fleets reduce complexity and accelerate their EV transition."

Product launch context

The collaboration follows vaylens' introduction last year of a suite of solutions designed to help fleet managers operate electric vehicle fleets more efficiently and cost-effectively. The latest integration with waEV-charge hardware is positioned as part of ongoing efforts to expand the range of options available to fleet operators and enhance operational transparency in managing distributed charging infrastructure.
