Yesterday

Verne has announced the appointment of Michele Tagliatti as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), as the company aims to expand its operations in the Nordics.

With over a decade of experience in the data centre, telecommunications, and technology sectors, Michele Tagliatti joins Verne from Liquid Intelligent Technologies. During his time there, he held pivotal roles, including Deputy Group Chief Financial Officer and Group CFO of its data centre business unit, where he notably led a financial restructuring that significantly boosted the unit's profitability.

Tagliatti's primary objective at Verne will be to develop a results-based financial strategy to support the company's ambition to meet the rising demand for cost-effective, renewable-powered data centre services and colocation for HPC and AI workloads.

Dominic Ward, Chief Executive Officer of Verne, expressed his confidence in Tagliatti's capabilities, saying, "Michele's extensive expertise as a CFO in the data centre industry makes him a key addition to Verne's senior leadership team. His expertise in financial strategy will be vital as we scale our Nordic operations to meet the ever-increasing demand for sustainable data centre services and ultimately achieve our ambitious growth plans."

Michele Tagliatti remarked on his new role, "It is a privilege to be part of the Verne leadership team as the business realises its vision of expanding across the Nordics. Verne has ensured that numerous businesses can access safe, reliable and sustainable data centre services. I look forward to working with the broader team to continue expanding Verne's reach and optimise the vast opportunities provided to us in this dynamic industry."

Tagliatti's appointment coincides with Verne's expansion phase, marked by the recent announcement to establish its fifth Nordic data centre campus in Mäntsälä, Finland. This move follows a string of significant senior appointments, including A. William Stein joining Verne's board as Non-Executive Chairman.

Verne, known for providing sustainable data centre services, operates four data centres in Iceland and Finland, all powered by renewable energy and tailored for high-performance computing and AI applications. Additionally, the firm manages a hyper-connected centre in London, strategically serving high-demand applications with low-latency needs.
