Westcon-Comstor becomes AWS distributor for Europe
Westcon-Comstor has announced an agreement to become an authorised Amazon Web Services (AWS) distributor for Europe, marking a strategic expansion of its cloud offerings for channel partners.
The distribution arrangement encompasses the entire European Economic Area, Switzerland, the UK and Ireland, extending significant growth opportunities for Westcon-Comstor's partners by allowing access to AWS's cloud products and solutions. This agreement covers major markets, including Benelux, France, Germany, Italy, the Nordics, Spain, and the UK.
Westcon-Comstor will leverage its cloud capabilities by providing partners with comprehensive support to accelerate their AWS success. This support includes assistance in developing AWS go-to-market strategies, accessing AWS funding programmes, and building technical expertise through enablement initiatives.
Westcon-Comstor will establish a dedicated AWS cloud business unit in Europe with a centralised centre of excellence. This will be complemented by in-country sales, pre-sales, and marketing teams supporting partner recruitment, enablement strategies, and data-driven demand generation programmes.
Utilising its association with Rebura, the AWS Premier Tier Services partner acquired earlier this year, Westcon-Comstor will empower partners to offer a wide range of AWS services. This suite includes migrations, modernisations, and managed services, with Rebura providing technical guidance and expertise through flexible engagement models to offer immediate AWS capabilities to partners.
The European distribution agreement primarily targets increasing end-user adoption of the AWS portfolio within the SMB and public sector domains. This effort builds upon Westcon-Comstor's existing collaboration with AWS in the Asia-Pacific region, where it is already an authorised AWS distributor and achieved AWS Security Competency status in 2023.
Additionally, the AWS Marketplace programme launched earlier this year by Westcon-Comstor continues gaining traction with the addition of new partners and independent software vendors. This programme is critical to Westcon-Comstor's AWS plan by providing partners with a streamlined route to transact on AWS Marketplace while enabling vendors to expand their AWS Marketplace business.
David Grant, CEO at Westcon-Comstor, commented, "Our vision is to be an AWS distributor of choice, and this Europe-wide agreement represents a major step forward on that journey. We are proud to have built a unique, comprehensive AWS framework, providing partners with the expertise and support needed to accelerate their cloud business growth and ensure success in the AWS ecosystem. We look forward to further expanding the AWS presence and footprint across Europe, unlocking fresh opportunities for our partners and leveraging insights from our successful collaboration in APAC."
This agreement represents a significant development in cloud distribution, offering channel partners expanded access to AWS resources and expertise across Europe. By building on its existing framework and partnerships, Westcon-Comstor aims to facilitate broader adoption of cloud technologies and support diverse market needs in the region.
