Xona & spotit partner to secure European critical infrastructure
Xona has entered into a partnership with spotit to deliver secure access solutions for critical infrastructure organisations across Europe. The collaboration will see spotit, a managed security services provider based in Belgium, include the Xona Platform within its cybersecurity portfolio. The aim is to help enterprises and industrial operators manage operational technology (OT) and industrial control systems (ICS) access, while maintaining regulatory compliance and a high level of cybersecurity.
Access management
The integration of Xona's platform with spotit's managed and co-managed services will enable critical infrastructure operators-including those in energy, pharmaceuticals, and transportation-to oversee third-party and remote user access without additional cyber risk. The solution uses browser-based secure access tools that allow connections to OT environments without deploying client software or changing existing network architecture. This approach is designed to reduce friction for remote users, contractors, and vendors, while ensuring critical assets are not exposed to insecure endpoints.
The platform is tailored for complex cyber-physical environments. It provides full session auditability, operational visibility, and enforces access based on user roles and time. These functions are becoming increasingly important for organisations facing evolving security threats and more demanding compliance obligations.
Regulatory compliance
European critical infrastructure operators are subject to regulations such as the NIS2 Directive, which require stringent controls around system access and operational security. The Xona-spotit partnership is positioned to support compliance, giving operators the ability to provide policy-driven and auditable access for internal staff and external partners. All activities can be monitored and recorded, addressing audit requirements without increasing administrative burden for cybersecurity teams.
Spotit's platform integration also extends to identity management and Zero Trust security architectures. Customers can adopt a lifecycle approach to privileged and third-party access, governing how remote users interact with sensitive systems throughout their engagement.
Industry sectors
Organisations in manufacturing, chemicals, and utilities are also in scope for these new managed services. The combined offering targets sectors where remote access has typically been a challenge due to legacy security tools or the complexity of modernising operational environments without business disruption.
Spotit will now deliver the Xona Gateway and Centralizer as part of its service line-up, enabling its clients in these industries to maintain secure operations while progressing digital transformation initiatives.
Partner perspectives
"Spotit is committed to helping customers achieve secure and resilient operations in an increasingly connected world. Xona's purpose- built secure access platform aligns perfectly with our managed service model, allowing us to deliver rapid, policy-controlled, and auditable access to the most sensitive systems, while reducing complexity and risk for our customers," said Erik De Nert, Head of spotit OT, spotit.
Roark Pollock, Chief Marketing Officer at Xona, said, "Spotit is a proven cybersecurity leader trusted by organizations operating Europe's most essential infrastructure. Their expertise in managing secure networks and delivering Zero Trust services makes them a perfect partner to bring Xona to customers across the region.
