Zen Internet achieves AWS competency to boost UK SMB support
Zen Internet has announced it has achieved the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Small and Medium Business Competency, recognising its focus on small and medium size customers in the UK.
The AWS Small and Medium Business Competency is a specialisation that identifies AWS Partners with demonstrated proficiency and customer success in supporting small and medium businesses (SMBs). Companies that earn this designation have proven their ability to help SMBs solve both business and technical challenges using AWS services.
Zen Internet, based in the UK, states it is equipped to address typical SMB requirements through solutions tailored to customers' specific needs, taking into account common deployment models, varying levels of IT capability and financial preferences, as well as local and industry-specific conditions.
Martin O'Donnell, Managing Director for Zen's Business division, commented on the achievement:
"We are proud to have achieved the AWS Small and Medium Business Competency. For nearly 30 years we have been at the forefront of digital innovation, helping businesses adopt cutting-edge technology. Our people really do set us apart – our Solutions Architects meet a higher bar, with professional-level AWS certifications as standard, and one of only 15 AWS Security SMEs globally."
O'Donnell continued: "With Zen, you get a trusted AWS Partner with the technical depth, stability, and customer first approach to help your business thrive in the cloud. We help SMBs achieve their goals by leveraging the breadth of services and pace of innovation that AWS provides."
The AWS Competency Program is intended to assist customers in finding partners with deep industry expertise to support the seamless adoption and integration of AWS-powered solutions. Through the program, AWS aims to enable scalable, flexible, and cost-efficient solutions tailored to businesses of all sizes.
As part of its cloud services offering, Zen Internet has worked with customers such as RAM Tracking, a provider of vehicle tracking and fleet management technologies. RAM Tracking transitioned from a hosted data centre to a fully cloud-based infrastructure supported by Zen.
Richard Blown, Group CTO at RAM Tracking, described the impact of the move:
"Having a cloud-based infrastructure managed by Zen, helps me sleep at night. You've got that 24/7 support and that all important cloud burstability – all in AWS. If our growth reaches a certain tipping point, the cloud infrastructure takes care of it."
Blown added: "By working with Zen we were able to spin new environments up really quickly, but we could also leverage their architects and cloud subject matter experts to benefit from their through leadership and best practice."
Zen Internet continues to expand its presence in the UK business market, focusing on managed services, cloud infrastructure deployment, and network connectivity to support businesses ranging from small enterprises to large organisations. The company holds B Corp certification, reflecting its ongoing efforts to balance profit with considerations of social and environmental responsibility. Zen has also stated an intention to achieve net zero status by 2040.
