Arrow Electronics partners with Scality for cyber storage push

Arrow Electronics has announced a new distribution agreement with Scality, a global player in cyber-resilient storage software, aimed at expanding the adoption of ARTESCA. ARTESCA is Scality's secure, easy-to-use object storage software designed for immutable, cyber-resilient backups, particularly targeted at focused markets across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).

Mike Worby, Head of Strategic Alliances for Arrow's enterprise computing solutions business in EMEA, emphasised the importance of this collaboration. "We are excited to have the opportunity to address our customers' pressing demand for cyber-resilient storage solutions," Worby stated.

Worby highlighted that Scality's solutions precisely address three crucial customer priorities: cyber resiliency, data management, and preparing for modern AI data centres. ARTESCA stands out for its low cost of entry, easy deployment models, and seamless integration with prominent backup vendors like Veeam.

The agreement is timely, coinciding with the rise in the hybrid-cloud infrastructure market. Recent reports predict substantial growth in the demand for infrastructure solutions designed to support organisational data stored across public, private, and on-premises environments over the next eight to ten years. Specifically, the private cloud segment is expected to see steady growth due to heightened concerns regarding the security and protection of confidential data.

Wally MacDermid, Vice President of Worldwide Alliances and Distribution at Scality, expressed optimism about the partnership. "The alliance with Arrow accelerates our mission to keep end-user customers protected against ransomware," MacDermid said. He underscored that with ARTESCA and Veeam, Arrow channel partners now have a turnkey, immutable solution capable of countering even AI-fuelled ransomware attacks.

Arrow will distribute all Scality product SKUs, with a particular focus on ARTESCA for Veeam. Scality reports that ARTESCA has experienced a fivefold increase in revenue year over year since 2023, driven entirely by channel partners. Designed with resellers in mind, ARTESCA for Veeam facilitates easy deployment through flexible appliance options and a low entry price point while offering robust resiliency for unbreakable data protection.

Noteworthy is Arrow's proactive approach, as the company is rapidly ramping up its distribution-selling teams in key markets across EMEA. To support the broader adoption of ARTESCA, Arrow is implementing training programmes, product certifications, and marketing campaigns in strategic locations.

This collaboration marks a significant step in addressing the increasing demand for cyber-resilient storage solutions, especially amid growing concerns over ransomware and data security in hybrid cloud infrastructures. Both Arrow and Scality are poised to make substantial inroads in providing robust, scalable storage solutions tailored for the modern data centre.
