DeepTree has launched DeepTree 3, a new version of its private markets intelligence platform. The first release, Horizon, is now available to all clients.

The Milan-based company will deliver the update in four stages, with each release added to the existing platform rather than introduced as a separate product.

DeepTree develops software for M&A and private equity professionals. Its platform is used for company discovery, target screening, deal flow management, benchmarking and portfolio monitoring.

Horizon introduces a redesigned interface, updated navigation and new ways to explore links between companies, people, deals and markets.

The release includes six new areas of functionality: transaction comparables and source documentation, wider geographic coverage, real estate intelligence, an updated market analysis tool, integrated news and expanded private equity fund data.

In the transaction and trading comparables section, users can access reconstructed deal data and official documentation linked to the analysis. The geographic expansion adds more companies, more markets and official documentation across international jurisdictions.

Another part of the release focuses on property holdings. The platform now includes information on the real estate holdings of companies and individuals, alongside corresponding market values.

Market analysis has also been revised. DeepTree described the changes as offering a broader view of markets and opportunities, while the news feature brings updates on followed companies and markets directly into the platform.

The private equity funds section has also been expanded, with deeper data and analysis on funds, portfolios, exits, investment strategies and teams.

Phased rollout

The wider DeepTree 3 programme will be introduced through four consecutive releases. The next three are named Satellites, Deep Field and Orbit.

Each release will be made available within the platform clients already use. Users will not need to migrate systems, install separate software or create new logins as the rollout continues.

The approach breaks a larger platform update into a sequence of live releases. Rather than holding back features for a single launch, DeepTree is putting each section into production as it is completed.

Lorenzo Ferretti outlined that approach in comments accompanying the launch. "We chose to release DeepTree 3 chapter by chapter, not all at once. A capability goes live as soon as it is ready, in the platform our clients already use, and every release opens the ground for the next. Horizon is the foundation: the new experience, the new navigation, and the way information now connects across the product," said Lorenzo Ferretti, CEO & Co-founder, DeepTree.

The update comes as providers of financial data and workflow tools compete to offer more integrated information to private markets investors and advisers. For users in M&A and private equity, product design has become increasingly focused on reducing the number of systems needed to research targets, compare transactions and track portfolios.

DeepTree positions its software around those tasks. Its platform is designed to help investment teams streamline research, strengthen analysis and manage deal-related work more efficiently.

By choosing a phased structure for the latest version, DeepTree is linking interface changes with data expansion and workflow features. Horizon establishes the initial framework, while later releases are intended to add further layers within the same platform environment.

The next releases have been identified only by name and broad theme. Satellites is described as including agents that work for users, Deep Field is intended to surface information that was previously unseen, and Orbit is positioned as the final stage in the sequence.

For now, Horizon is the first live element of that programme, bringing a revised user experience and a broader set of data tools to all DeepTree clients.
