Dell unveils streamlined AI PC lineup & smart docks
Dell Technologies has announced a revamp of its AI PC and peripheral offerings, introducing a simplified naming structure and enhanced performance capabilities with both Intel and AMD processor options.
The revised product lineup categorises AI PCs into three main segments: Dell, Dell Pro, and Dell Pro Max. The Dell series is aimed at catering to play, school, and work needs, the Dell Pro line focuses on professional productivity, and the Dell Pro Max targets maximum performance.
Louise Quennell, Senior Director, Client Solutions Group at Dell Technologies, UK, stated, "Our new portfolio of intelligent PCs and peripherals makes finding the right PC setup easy. But simplicity shouldn't mean lack of choice. Our wide selection of form factors, screen sizes and price points mean that we meet our customers wherever they are on their journey. Plus, by offering a diversity of silicon innovation from partners such as Intel and AMD, we can deliver solutions as unique as our customers."
In addition to simplifying the brand architecture, Dell has also unveiled the Dell Pro Docks series, marking the company's entry into smart dock technology. These docks deliver up to 300W of power, support multiple high-resolution displays, and offer remote IT management through the Dell Device Management Console.
Among the new products, Dell will offer laptops and 2-in-1 devices, promising a brand-new design and extended battery life with Intel Core Ultra processors. The Dell 14 Plus and Dell 14 Plus 2-in-1 models offer portability and flexibility, catering to both creative and everyday needs, while the Dell Plus 16 Plus models offer larger screen sizes with optional QHD+ mini-LED touchscreen displays for enhanced work and creative tasks.
For the Dell Pro series, Intel and AMD processors will both be available, with the latter making its debut in Dell's Pro line. The Dell Pro laptops feature business-oriented designs with an emphasis on longer battery life and enhanced performance, streamlined under a single BIOS and combined driver set. The Pro series includes options such as the Dell Pro 13 Plus, 14 Plus, and 16 Plus models, as well as desktops and all-in-one devices tailored for IT-managed environments.
Referring to the management of these new products, Quennell added, "On top of that, Dell Device Management Console will make fleet management super simple. The industry's first and only holistic peripheral device management solution in the industry, it ensures streamlined IT operations and enhanced efficiency."
Dell's introduction of the new Pro Docks family expands its peripherals portfolio, claiming unprecedented power management capabilities. These include the Dell Pro Dock, Dell Pro Smart Dock, and Dell Pro Thunderbolt 4 and 5 Smart Docks, which promise efficient power delivery and support for multiple displays without additional clutter.
"Our AI PCs and management tools make the complex PC refresh process easy. There's never been a better moment to invest in a new PC," Quennell concluded, highlighting the company's focus on making technology and device management more accessible for its customers.
