ShowHeroes buys Traffective to boost publisher ads reach

Tue, 10th Mar 2026

ShowHeroes has acquired Traffective, a Munich-based programmatic monetisation platform focused on full-page monetisation and display advertising. The deal expands ShowHeroes' publisher ad-tech reach and adds a German-developed ad stack to its international operations.

Together, the businesses work with nearly 2,000 publisher partners and serve more than 25 billion ad impressions. They also represent cross-channel advertising volumes of more than EUR 10 million per month across connected TV (CTV), video, and display inventory.

Traffective will operate as Traffective by ShowHeroes. Publisher partners will keep the same products, integrations and points of contact. The transaction remains subject to regulatory approval.

Market positioning

ShowHeroes specialises in CTV and digital video advertising and sells across multiple regions. Traffective adds a platform focused on programmatic monetisation and yield optimisation, with an emphasis on display formats and full-page placements.

The acquisition increases ShowHeroes' exposure to German-speaking markets and provides a base to expand Traffective's tools into other geographies, including the UK. ShowHeroes plans to use its international sales organisation to distribute the combined offering to publishers and buyers.

The companies describe the deal as a move to build an independent publisher monetisation platform across CTV, video and display. The goal is a more integrated, multi-screen proposition for advertisers, with inventory and data managed through the group's systems.

Technology mix

ShowHeroes brings CTV and video products, along with its contextual targeting system, SemanticHero. Traffective contributes programmatic monetisation technology and yield optimisation expertise developed in the German market.

The combined setup links yield optimisation and contextual targeting with ShowHeroes' CTV and video stack, supported by an international sales function that already sells video and CTV campaigns across multiple markets.

Ilhan Zengin, founder and CEO of ShowHeroes, said the company plans to bring Traffective's approach to new regions and integrate it with ShowHeroes' demand relationships.

"Traffective has built a monetisation logic that has proven itself over many years in one of Europe's most competitive digital markets," Zengin said.

"Our ambition is to scale this technology internationally and connect it with our global demand infrastructure. By combining yield optimisation, contextual intelligence and our AI-powered CTV and video stack, we are strengthening what premium publishers can achieve across the full multi-screen ecosystem," he added.

Publisher implications

Traffective's network includes more than 300 publishers. It provides ad stack technology and yield management, runs an IAB-certified consent management platform, and operates a proprietary video marketplace.

The video marketplace supports instream monetisation for publishers, including those without existing video content. This sits alongside Traffective's display monetisation business, which remains central to its positioning.

ShowHeroes' direct sales organisation is expected to give Traffective publishers access to additional global brand budgets. For ShowHeroes, the deal adds national, regional, and local media partners, expanding the inventory available for packaging with video and CTV activity.

Both companies also position the tie-up as a response to cookie restrictions and fragmented attention across devices. They say the combined offering increases monetisation options by bringing together programmatic and display expertise with content, creative and demand-side relationships.

Rollout plans

ShowHeroes plans to roll out Traffective's monetisation tools across its international market structures gradually. The move extends Traffective's optimisation logic beyond German-speaking markets and sets expectations for distribution across ShowHeroes' existing regions.

Traffective will continue under its current brand identity, with ShowHeroes attached. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Founded in 2016, ShowHeroes is headquartered in Berlin and operates across Europe, Latin America and Asia, focusing on CTV and video advertising across digital screens.

Traffective is headquartered in Munich and focuses on programmatic publisher monetisation. Under the new ownership structure, the companies plan to expand Traffective's product suite into additional markets, leveraging ShowHeroes' existing international commercial presence.
