Veeam appoints Piero Gallucci to lead UK & Ireland

Veeam has appointed Piero Gallucci as Regional Vice President for the UK and Ireland, placing a long-time sales and channel executive in charge of operations across both markets.

Gallucci will oversee regional execution and customer engagement, as well as partner relationships-central to Veeam's route to market for data protection and recovery software.

Veeam positions its portfolio around data resilience, selling backup and recovery tools for both on-premises and cloud environments. It also offers software it says supports data portability, data security, and data intelligence.

Regional remit

Gallucci joins as organisations place greater emphasis on restoring systems after disruption and limiting the impact of cyber incidents. Many are also reassessing how data protection aligns with cloud adoption and modern application architectures.

The appointment sits within Veeam's EMEA leadership structure. Tim Pfaelzer, General Manager and Senior Vice President of EMEA, welcomed the hire and highlighted partner execution as a priority for the UK and Ireland.

Career background

Before joining Veeam, Gallucci was Area Vice President and General Manager for UK and Ireland at NetApp, responsible for regional growth and customer activity.

He previously served as Vice President, EMEA Sales at VMware Tanzu, focusing on customer adoption of cloud-native software and related go-to-market execution across the region.

Earlier, he held senior roles at Docker, including Vice President and General Manager for EMEA and APAC.

Gallucci also spent seven years at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, where he held roles including Director and Head of Sales for the Financial Services Industry, Global Account General Manager for HSBC, and Global Account Manager for the Banking and Financial Services sector.

He began his career in senior sales and management roles at Intel, with a focus on banking and retail customers across EMEA.

Market focus

Veeam sells to enterprises and mid-sized organisations and works with managed service providers, resellers, and technology partners. Gallucci will lead the UK and Ireland team as customers place increased emphasis on data resilience and AI-related initiatives.

Gallucci holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Management and Operations from Oxford Brookes University.
