GCX Managed Services reports strong growth in 2023

Yesterday

GCX Managed Services has announced strong year-on-year growth, attributed to its successful global customer acquisition and the enhancement of its networking services.

The company, which is known for its networking solutions in sectors such as hospitality, retail, FMCG, and manufacturing, specialises in providing speed and agility to large and mid-sized enterprises through its international network and regional partnerships. Expanding its delivery capacity to over 100 countries, GCX has witnessed a substantial uptake in its core network offerings from both new and existing clientele.

Among the services offered by GCX, its Secure Access Service Edge (SASE), Unified Communications, Network Operations Centre (NOC) as-a-Service, and the Global Network Security Experience (GNSX) are noted for their effectiveness. The GNSX platform, integrating SD-WAN and SASE technology, has been particularly highlighted, earning the company the title of Palo Alto Networks' Technical Partner of the Year in 2024.

To support its strategic initiatives, GCX operates alongside its sister division, the recently rebranded FLAG.

Lorenzo Romano, Chief Executive Officer of GCX Managed Services, commented on the company's success, stating, "This year, GCX Managed Services has achieved significant growth and expanded its global customer base. Our success is a testament to the creativity and confidence of our team and the unmatched agility we can offer enterprises on a global scale. As we continue to invest in further automation for next-generation networks, the human touch will also remain at our core, guiding us through technical challenges as we execute our new strategic direction."

With backing from its investor 3i Infrastructure plc, GCX focuses on offering advanced technology solutions globally. The company aims to reinforce its core offerings while advancing automation and artificial intelligence tools across its network services to enhance customer experience. It has implemented automation for level-one ticketing, freeing approximately 500 hours for customer support.

Looking forward, GCX plans to continue investing in its product roadmap over the next 18 months. Future developments include micro-segmentation, compliance services, and further automation to strengthen its position in the managed services sector. These efforts aim to support the transition from SD-WAN, reducing costs and vulnerabilities, and offering flexibility with both standalone features and integrated solutions within the company's SASE offerings.

In a bid to drive its transformation forward, GCX has recently appointed Gareth Williams as Chairman and Lorenzo Romano as CEO. Romano's tenure has seen significant growth after previously leading the UK & Ireland managed services division at Orange Business Services. Williams, with his extensive experience in IT and telecoms, is expected to aid in scaling the business through his experience running major fibre networks and holding executive positions in prominent telecom companies.

Gareth Williams, Chairman of GCX Managed Services, remarked, "We're more focused than ever on driving innovation, expanding our capabilities and delivering long-term value for our customers, partners and shareholders. 3i Infrastructure's ongoing investment will be key in allowing us to scale the business as we grow our global customer base of enterprises and support them in delivering next-generation global networks. In tandem, our ambitious product roadmap will help us accelerate our growth, capitalise on a strong enterprise market opportunity and enable us to deliver flexible, secure solutions to our customers worldwide."
