NCR Atleos has renewed its agreement with Castle Leisure to manage the operator's ATM estate across its UK venues. The deal covers 22 machines at 11 sites.
Under the arrangement, NCR Atleos will continue to run the estate on a fully outsourced basis, taking responsibility for monitoring, maintenance, compliance and cash management. Castle Leisure operates leisure, entertainment and bingo venues, where access to cash remains part of the customer offer.
The renewal keeps NCR Atleos as the exclusive ATM provider across Castle Leisure's locations. The model is designed to maintain free-to-use cash access for customers while removing the need for Castle Leisure to manage the machines in-house.
As branch networks shrink and cost pressures persist across retail and leisure, operators with multiple sites have increasingly turned to outsourced ATM services. In this model, responsibility for servicing machines, handling compliance and ensuring cash availability shifts from venue operators to specialist providers.
For Castle Leisure, the arrangement is focused on reliability in busy venues where demand for cash remains steady. Access to cash is seen as important to both customer experience and venue performance.
"Our customers expect quick, dependable access to cash when they visit our venues. NCR Atleos continues to provide the reliability, expertise, and operational scale we need," Wayne Davies, Deputy CEO of Castle Leisure, said. "Their fully managed ATM service removes operational burden from our teams and ensures we can focus on delivering great experiences for our guests."
Outsourced model
The service is based on what NCR Atleos describes as ATM as a Service, under which a client hands over the day-to-day operation of an ATM estate. For Castle Leisure, that means end-to-end oversight of the machines across all 11 venues, intending to keep them available in high-footfall settings and aligned with regulatory requirements.
This type of model has become more common as businesses weigh the cost of owning and operating ATM infrastructure against the need to preserve customer access to cash. For venue operators, particularly those with dispersed estates, outsourcing can reduce the administrative and operational work associated with cash machines.
The renewed agreement builds on a relationship that has been in place for many years. NCR Atleos, which focuses on self-service financial access, operates ATM services for financial institutions and retailers, as well as its own independent network.
"Castle Leisure Limited has trusted NCR Atleos for many years to deliver dependable, free-to-use cash access for their customers," said Neil Martin, Area Managing Director for the UK at NCR Atleos.
"We are proud to support their business with reliable, fully managed ATM services that enhance operational efficiency and help create a positive experience for every customer who wants to access cash."
The renewed contract leaves Castle Leisure with 22 free-to-use ATMs managed by an external provider across 11 UK venues.
