OneFamily partners with ANS to drive Microsoft cloud overhaul

Today

ANS has announced a customer partnership with OneFamily to deliver a digital transformation programme using Microsoft cloud technologies.

The financial mutual, OneFamily, will move from an on-premises legacy technology setup to a full Microsoft cloud stack, aiming to reduce business risks, lower operating costs, and create a scalable platform to support its 1.5 million customers across the United Kingdom.

Technology landscape

OneFamily's decision to partner with ANS follows its strategy to modernise its technology infrastructure. Transitioning to the Microsoft cloud stack is intended to facilitate operational efficiencies and build a foundation for future growth, while maintaining service quality for customers.

According to ANS, key contributing factors behind OneFamily's selection included ANS's industry accreditations and its model of agile project delivery, which is coordinated through its Centre of Excellence. This structural approach is designed to make OneFamily more resilient and data-driven as it continues adapting its services and operations.

Centre of Excellence

At the centre of the transformation is ANS's Centre of Excellence, which brings together expertise in cloud, data, security, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and artificial intelligence services. ANS states the Centre will oversee governance, project oversight, and strategic alignment throughout the digital transformation process for OneFamily.

Richard Thompson, Chief Executive Officer of ANS, said:

We're excited to support OneFamily in delivering a truly modern, customer-centric experience. This partnership reflects our shared commitment to innovation, agility, and putting customers first. This engagement marks a landmark moment in ANS's journey within the financial services sector. Working with OneFamily has been a true partnership - from the collaborative approach of their teams to the willingness of the board to get close to the detail and understand what this transformation enables.

Through the programme, OneFamily will migrate to Microsoft Azure and adopt ANS's ongoing managed services. The integration will also give OneFamily the ability to centralise operational data and access tools to support further technology enhancements, including artificial intelligence initiatives.

Cost and risk reduction

Neil Stewart, Senior Account Manager at ANS, said: "By migrating to Azure and adopting our Centre of Excellence and Managed Services, OneFamily will be able to reduce cost and risk, centralise data, and gain the agility needed to transform at pace. We're incredibly proud to be supporting them as they lay the digital foundations for future AI innovation."

The project is expected to improve technological resilience for OneFamily. By upgrading from its legacy systems, the mutual will also seek to streamline its operations and maintain regulatory compliance within the UK's financial sector.

Jackie Davies, Chief Operating Officer at OneFamily, commented: "OneFamily is delighted to be deepening our relationships with both ANS and Microsoft as we continue to develop our technology and change strategies. This project will be transformative in strengthening resilience and reducing operating costs, as well as offering technology that will allow us to continue providing excellent service to our customers. We very much look forward to building on our existing relationships with ANS and Microsoft over the years to come."

Strategic growth

The move to Microsoft cloud technology forms a core part of OneFamily's broader approach to strategic growth and digital capability development. By leveraging cloud-based systems, the company says it will gain operational flexibility to respond to evolving customer needs.

With this collaboration, OneFamily aims to support its members through enhanced digital channels while maintaining focus on financial wellbeing and accessible services across its customer base.
