Wex Photo Video opens fourteenth UK store in Putney
The award-winning retailer Wex Photo Video (Wex) has fortified its UK presence with the opening of its fourteenth store in Putney, marking another significant step in its ambitious expansion strategy.
Wex has signed a ten-year lease for the nearly 5,100 sq ft Unit 2, Tileman House, on the Upper Richmond Road. The new flagship store benefits from a prominent location between Putney Train Station and East Putney Underground, paying an annual rent of GBP £170,000.
The modern, state-of-the-art Putney store enjoys the company of popular brands such as Pure Gym, Toolstation, Nandos, Pizza Express, Itsu, and Tesco. The decision to open this outlet is part of Wex's continuous investment in brick-and-mortar shops to supplement its robust online offerings. This follows the successful inaugurations in Cambridge and Nottingham over the past year, with a relocation in Edinburgh nearing completion.
Since 2020, Wex has opened six new stores and has plans to establish seven more by 2025. The quest to locate suitable sites for the store expansion is handled by the Carter Jonas Retail team. The team is specifically interested in ground spaces ranging from 2,500 sq ft to 4,000 sq ft, situated on the outskirts of town centres, on arterial routes, or in busy suburban locations promising excellent visibility and easy access to parking facilities. The search extends to various sites, particularly targeting cities such as Cardiff, Liverpool, Reading, and Sheffield.
Stuart Williams, Partner at Carter Jonas, commends Wex for its unwavering dedication to customer satisfaction. Williams appreciates Wex's commitment, citing their continuous investment in both physical stores and digital platforms. By prioritising excellent customer service through various channels, including physical outlets, Wex has successfully upheld brand recognition and experienced growth.
Williams notes that Wex's approach has resulted in superior service for over a million photographers and videographers, demonstrating their effective balance of traditional and digital strategies. He states, "Wex's team is dedicated to assisting its customers at every step, as evidenced by its ongoing investment in physical stores in addition to its digital platforms."
"By prioritising exceptional customer service across various channels, including brick-and-mortar outlets, Wex has been successful in maintaining brand recognition and growth, while also ensuring superior levels of service to more than a million photographers and videographers."
