10ZiG has launched 10ZiG Manager v6 and a Linux Virtual Appliance, both now generally available to customers.

The release shifts the company's endpoint management platform from a Windows Server-based setup to a Linux-based system. The move is intended to simplify deployment, reduce infrastructure overhead and eliminate server licensing costs for customers using its thin and zero client products.

The Linux Virtual Appliance is a pre-configured management environment that organisations can deploy quickly. It is designed to reduce maintenance requirements and offer a smaller attack surface than traditional management server deployments.

Manager v6 also introduces a rebuilt web console and changes to identity and access management. These include support for multi-tenancy, role-based access control and Microsoft Entra integration, aimed at tightening administrative controls across distributed endpoint estates.

The update also adds tools for cloud-based management and remote support, including Secure Connector cloud management, Secure Endpoint shadowing and remote assistance features for IT teams managing devices across multiple sites or remote locations.

Automation is another focus. The latest version improves endpoint onboarding, policy management and workflow administration, while expanding reporting, auditing and operational visibility for customers that need closer oversight of endpoint environments.

Scale and performance

A central part of the release is a series of architectural changes aimed at supporting larger deployments. According to 10ZiG, these include lower CPU and memory use, database optimisations, improved web console responsiveness and a queuing system for endpoint check-ins.

The changes are intended to improve stability and responsiveness in multi-site environments. 10ZiG says the platform can now support thousands of endpoints more efficiently while reducing the infrastructure burden on IT teams.

The update is part of a broader overhaul of the company's management software. That effort has focused on customers running virtual desktops, cloud workspaces, SaaS applications and secure browser environments, where endpoint control and support remain central concerns for IT departments.

10ZiG also highlighted pricing as a point of difference. Manager v6, including the Linux Virtual Appliance, will remain available at no additional cost to existing customers, unlike rival endpoint management products that charge per device, by subscription or for separate cloud features.

The release comes as IT teams continue to look for ways to manage dispersed device fleets without adding server complexity. Linux-based appliances and browser-based management consoles have become more common in endpoint administration as organisations seek to reduce maintenance, security exposure and software licensing obligations.

10ZiG sells thin and zero client hardware and software for virtual desktop infrastructure, desktop as a service, software as a service and web application environments. The company has been active in the endpoint market for more than two decades and works with connection brokers including Omnissa, Microsoft and Citrix.

A senior executive said the release reflects sustained platform development over the past year.

"10ZiG Manager v6 and the Linux Virtual Appliance represent the future of endpoint management for our customers," said Kevin Greenway, Chief Technology Officer, 10ZiG Technology. "We've combined the security and simplicity of a purpose-built Linux appliance with extensive scalability improvements delivered across the Manager platform over the last year. The result is a management solution capable of supporting organizations of virtually any size while remaining completely free for our customers."
